Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem, Fleur Hassan-Nahoum stands on the shoulders of political and public service giants. Her father, Joshua Hassan, served four consecutive terms and a total of twenty years as the prime minister of Gibraltar. There, he pioneered the territory’s institutions of self-government, which emphasized civil rights and the repatriation of the Jewish diaspora community.
In this conversation, Fleur speaks to the influence of her family on her work and her specific goals for her time in office. She is working for an expansion of economic prosperity through job creation, an improvement in the educational system and an overall upgrade on the way that the rest of the world views the capital city of Israel.
